the orphanage in china

This is Archie in his little bed at the orphanage in

Guangzhou, China.

He lived here for the first five and a half years of his life.

Now he has a mom and dad

and a family just waiting for him to come home.

Bubba and I are just starting our part of the plan.

Yesterday we drove to Raleigh, North Carolina,

to pick up Lucy and Harry and Gus.

They stayed for over a week with their Nonnie there.

We drove back home today.

Right now I am tired and overwhelmed,

but tomorrow is another day.

Always feel better after a good night of sleep.

Thank you

 for all of the thoughts and prayers

 that have come our way.

Keep them coming this week 

as we practice being parents again....

not easy for these old bodies.

If all goes as planned,

David, Erika, and Archie will arrive home next Saturday night,

just in time for Christmas.

May God in all His glory 

continue to shine down His intricate care upon us.

for all of the answered prayers.
