not knowing what He ordaineth

The future has always been unknown to us. God ordained human life to be that way.

He gives grace for today only. He wants us to trust Him for what lies ahead.

I know that there were millions of people praying for a different outcome to this election. God in His wisdom chose not to answer in the way that seemed right to us.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." Proverbs 14:12

God's plan from the foundation of the world is continuing on as it has from the beginning. What happened on Tuesday is part of His unfolding of the future leading to the time when Jesus will return and set all things right again.

"He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand." Daniel 4:35

God is sovereign over all things. That means that God is God in fact, as well as in name, that He is on the throne of the universe, directing all things, working all things, "after the counsel of His own will." Ephesians 1:11

This, dear friends, is what we believe about God and therefore we rest in Him. We don't worry about the future because we are in His watchful care as members of His family through the shed blood of Jesus Christ His Son and our Savior.

What are we to do? We are to pray.

"First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior." I Timothy 2: 1-3

We must pray without ceasing for President-elect Obama, his family, his cabinet, and all who will surround him. Why? Because that is what God commands us to do.

This is still my prayer:

"Save us for the sake of your name, O God, that You might make your power known." Psalm 106:8

I pray that He will bring about a mighty reawakening in the hearts and minds of the people of this nation and that this will happen because we have been obedient to trust God and to pray.

It's going to be migthy interesting to see what the Lord is going to do!!!!!
