Christians get baptized,
completely immersed into water,
as an outward testimony of what Christ has done in their heart.
It is a time of public confession
to reveal to others
that we believe that Jesus died for our sins once for all,
that on the third day He rose again,
that He ascended into heaven to be seated at the right hand of God the Father,
that He is one day coming again back to this earth just as He left to gather His beloved
into an eternal relationship with God.
Baptism is an outward affirmation
of an inward change
that the Spirit of God works in a heart.
Last Sunday nine souls stood before the church to confess what God had done in their hearts.
Bubba and I were honored and humbled
to witness four of our grandchildren come forward
to be baptized by our son David.
Words cannot convey the joy of that day.

"Or do you not know
that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus
have been baptized into His death?
Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death,
in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,
so we too might walk in newness of life."
Romans 6: 3~4
