Christmas Eve

I love Christmas Eve!
This one dawned early and rainy.
but it was warm by the fire
with coffee
and snuggling little boys....
so glad they still like to do that.

We call it
"waiting for Christmas....."
The day before when little boys eyes
are alight with the anticipation of tomorrow morning.

We ventured over to Hilton Head for lunch
and a walk around Harbor Town.
The rain held off until time to come home.

Tonight the house is glowing
with the warmth of the fire again,
 the trees,
 and candlelight.

I'm going to make our breakfast casserole
 for in the morning
and then lay out a light dinner
for our crew.

Early to bed for Jake & Eli
after some reading and more snuggle time with Grams.

Will be keeping watch for Santa
before we grown-ups go to bed with visions of sugarplums
dancing around in our heads.

Jesus, thank you for coming to earth,
Thank you for dying and rising again victorious
over sin and satan and death.

As the boys anticipate the morning's gifts,
we, O Lord,
anticipate your soon return to earth.

Merry Christmas everybody.!
