Eight years ago today 

you burst into the world 

changing it forever for all of us.

You, dear one, 

were the firstborn grandson

 and you pretty much took our breath away....

literally.

Grammy forgot what to do,

your mommy didn't know what to do,

but we figured it out and just look at you now.

You almost waited to be born on your granddaddy's birthday,

but you went ahead and came the day before.

That's okay,

 because you were the greatest gift ever.

Just look at you now, sweet boy...

finishing up with second grade,

the star of the play,

an exceptional swimmer,

an artist in the making,

and the most sweet & loving little boy ever.

We love you Jake,

You have made our lives so happy!

We cannot wait for you and Eli to get here

so that we can have a great, big birthday party.
