The sunrise from our cabin.
That is the ship's bridge.
The place where the captain steers the "Celebration."
There's just something awesome about being in the middle of the ocean when the sun comes up.
We were heading south, into the Caribbean.
I didn't know Amanda took this photo.
If I had,
I wouldn't have worn the black socks with the red sandals.
I probably would have not had bedhead either.
It's very early in the morning.
I'm reading my Bible.
There is nothing better than studying God's word while sailing the deep blue sea.
At Hope Bible Church,
most everyone is reading the Bible through in 2023.
As David said,
"There's no better place to read your Bible than looking out at the ocean."
God's power and glory are on full display.
Since there were only two of us,
we had to get creative about taking pictures of both of us together.
This is a reflection in the glass slider.
We spent most of our first Sea Day exploring the ship.
For those who don't know,
A Sea Day is when the ship doesn't stop in a port.
We left Miami on Sunday as the sun was setting,
sailed all night,
all day Monday,
and all Monday night without stopping.
Early Tuesday morning we docked in the Dominican Republic.
Unfortunately,
on the first day of the cruise,
there was a medical emergency.
A Coast Guard helicopter landed on the rear of the ship.
The person was then taken back to Miami to a hospital there.
That caused quite a bit of excitement.
As the helicopter took flight there was much clapping and cheering.
Amanda and I watched the whole process from the ship's camera on our TV.
I don't know the outcome of the patient.
We love Sea Days the most.
So relaxing.
(except for the medical emergency... which was sad and sobering)
I think the best part of a cruise is sleeping.
The ship literally rocks you to sleep.
There is nothing like that feeling.
Total relaxation.
Looking down from our balcony.
Sea Day Sunset.
God paints His masterpieces in the sky you know.
That's Cuba on the horizon.
🚢
I 💗 cruising.
