interesting look at the earth

I love all things about the earth.

Recently I read a article that scientists are going to dig a hole through the earth's crust deep into it's mantle. The purpose of this mission would be to retrieve never before seen samples of the area. They say that these samples will be as important as the rocks that were brought home from the moon.
