rain

Out of an absolutely beautiful blue sky
comes a gathering of clouds
and then a sudden downpour
so thick
that no image appears beyond
the veil that has descended upon
the windows of my house.

A season,
summer,
brings these
glorious glimpes
of our Maker
busy at His work,
sending rain,
to water His creation.

The rain smells like summer....
it stays in my senses
long after it has disappeared
to refresh and refurbish the earth.
