school at home

This whole home school thing has been hard for me.

I have always loved the idea
of a classroom
full of students,
with a teacher,
a chalkboard,
little desks,
bulletin boards,
books, and
pencils.

There was even a smell
that went along with all of that
that I loved.

Amanda & Mark
have decided to home-school their children.
I understand why and I am very supportive.
I admire this undertaking and
the love and sacrifice that they are making.........

but I have a little tinge of sadness that won't go away....
for the way it used to be.

Fall was in the air today.
Darkness is coming sooner and sooner each night.
