a strong tower

"The name of the Lord
is a strong tower:
the righteous man runs into it
and is safe."
Proverbs 18:10

That's Bubba and Jake silhouetted
at the top of the tower
looking out through the telescope.

This tower is very sturdily built.
I think it would survive
a mild to moderate hurricane
without very much damage.

Heavy pilings in the water,
Tough, treated lumber,
solid joists,
and strong metal nuts and bolts
knit it together with percision
and make it a safe place.

God's word tells us that
"the name of the Lord is a strong tower."
That it is,
"a safe place to run in time of trouble."

Who runs there?
The righteous.
Who are the righteous?
Believers,
those who put their complete trust
in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

"and are safe."
Those who run to the Lord
in times of trouble
will find safety and security in Him.

Safety in the name of the Lord?
Think and ponder
on the ramifications
of the truth of this statement.

Going to take a swim
in the cool pool
at the beach,
but it is thundering
and that may not happen.
At the very least,
we will eat fresh seafood
at the "Flying Fish."
