six-thirty pm and still light

First light this morning.....I like to watch the "early" ships heading out to parts unknown.
The days are getting longer and the nights are getting shorter....that is good news.

Mark decided last night that it would be risky to plow the parking lot and have it freeze over, so for the second week in a row, Liberty Baptist Church in Lanex, VA, was closed for Sunday services.

This morning Mark sent out an e-mail saying that they would have church in their home for any who could come and they would SKYPE the message out via the internet for those who couldn't get out.

A man came over very early to get everything set up and then they lost their cable. About twenty people made it to the house for a mini service after all. Amanda did not serve Sunday dinner. I love the energy and dedication of these young ones.

Bubba made fresh oyster stew for dinner. He used real butter and real whipping cream. It was delicious....perfect night for it too.

I am reading "Night Over Water" by Ken Follett. The Pan Am Flying Clippers were the majestic flying boats that symbolized elegance, luxury and adventure not equaled since their heyday between 1931 and 1946. So good. See them at http://www.flyingclippers.com/.

Not watching the super bowl......
