Therefore He (God) also says in another Psalm,
"Thou wilt not allow Thy Holy One (Jesus) to undergo decay.
For David,
after He had served the purpose of God in his own generation,
fell asleep,
and was laid among his fathers, and underwent decay; (he died)
but He whom God raised (Jesus) did not undergo decay. (Jesus died but did not stay dead because He did not decay which is the normal process of dying)
Therefore,
Let it be known to you brethren,
that forgiveness of sin has been proclaimed to you." Acts 13: 35~38
God is Holy ~ we are sinners
Because we are sinners we cannot come to God as we are.
The highlighted word of God above is why we celebrate.
"He made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." II Corinthians 5:21
