There is a body of water behind our house. In the daylight it is beautiful and the ducks and geese make good use of it.
At night it is a different story. There is something out there that sounds like snoring. It is a low, consistent sound....kind of eerie and other-worldly.
If anyone has any idea what could be making this sound, please let me know.

We also live on the water here in Virginia Beach. I feel almost certain that what you are hearing is a bullfrog. I ran it by my husband and he came up with the same thing. At first I was thinking that it may be too early in the season for bullfrogs, but since you are in SC, maybe not.
I love your new house and wish you many happy and healthy years there.
